Description<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

We initialized the CMOMS model with winter climatological WOA13 (World Ocean Atlas 2013) potential temperature and salinity, and spun the model up for 50 years. Then, the last 5 years model results are extracted as climatological monthly data for downloading. \u00a0Variables in the netcdf file includes:<\/span><\/p>\n

longitude, latitude<\/strong>: horizontal grid system.<\/span><\/p>\n

mask<\/strong>: land-sea mask.<\/span><\/p>\n

level<\/strong> : depth of the data in the water below the sea surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

u:<\/strong> zonal velocity (m\/s positive value for eastward velocity) in the water\u00a0column, whose depth is defined in variable “level”.<\/span><\/p>\n

v<\/strong>: meridional velocity (m\/s positive value for northward velocity) in the\u00a0water column, whose depth is defined in variable “level”.<\/span><\/p>\n

w<\/strong>: vertical velocity (m\/s positive value for upward velocity) in the\u00a0water column, whose depth is defined in variable “level”. BE CAUTIOUS\u00a0WHEN YOU’RE USING A VERTICAL VELOCITY FROM CONTINUITY EQUATION.<\/span><\/p>\n

ubar<\/strong>: the zonal velocity (m\/s positive value for eastward velocity)\u00a0vertically averaged in the water column from sea surface to bottom.<\/span><\/p>\n

vbar<\/strong>: the meridional velocity (m\/s positive value for northward velocity)\u00a0vertically averaged in the water column from sea surface to bottom.<\/span><\/p>\n

zeta<\/strong>:\u00a0 sea surface elevation (m).<\/span><\/p>\n

temp<\/strong>: potential temperature (degree C) referring to sea surface in the water column.<\/span><\/p>\n

salt<\/strong>: salinity in the water column.<\/span><\/p>\n
